Nestled between Nicaragua and Brazil, El Salvador a small south American country had murder rates so high it was considered a murder capital of the world. Today, its streets are clean from gang rulings and the country is considered one of the safest.
President Nayib Bukele, a businessman rose to power two years ago, and a trademark of his rule are his tough on crime policies and intimidation campaigns that rounded up the gangs ruling El Salvador’s city streets, terrorizing its citizens.
